Indications
Steel Suture is indicated for thoracic closure, closure of the sternum and orthopedic procedures including cerclage and tendon repair
Contraindications
The use of these sutures is contraindicated in patients with known sensitivity or allergy to steel and/or its major metal components such as chromium and nickel.
Additionally, the presence of the steel can interfere with certain radio-diagnostic techniques and its use is contraindicated when the radio transparency of suture material is desirable.
